Just when I thought I’d satisfied my lust for shearling coats this season, a luxe, slightly oversized and reversible coat, from newcomer Arjé, completely stole my heart. And then, so did the rest of the collection. The New York based label launched earlier last year with Donna Karan alums Bessie Afnaim Corral and Oliver Corral. The husband and wife design duo set out to change the way we dress by focusing on comfort, versatility, and luxury. Color palettes are simple and sophisticated and silhouettes are designed to be layered in a multitude of ways. They’re also changing the way we shop with their “see now, buy now” approach. Four collections are to be launched per year, and everything within that collection will be fully produced before debuting. So although my dream shearling coat is sold out, I’m comforted in knowing there’s a lot more Arjé to indulge in for seasons to come.
