Happy birthday, Jennifer Aniston! The actress that made famous Friends’ Rachel Green today will blow on 49 candels. A few days ago, when she was a gues on Ellen, she said: “A Friends’ reunion? Anything is a possibility. I mean, George Clooney got married”. There’s no official news about a reunion actually, but we want to remember anyway one of our favourite Nineties TV show ever.
From 1994 to 2004, the lives of 6 guys living in New York made us laugh so much. Friends was one of the most successful series ever, that’s why we shouldnt be surprised if, still now, we found on TV the old episodes. Let’s see if you still remember, like we do, everything about them!
Monica Geller (Courteney Cox)
She had the “rent controlled” apartment where everyday the 6 friends met. Monica was very competitive and perfectionist (well, her mother, that never appreciated her, especially when she was a bit curvy, was the reason…), but at the end of the day she was the friend you can always count on…especially for dinner, considering the fact that she was a chef. After some wrong relationships (even his father best friend), she found true love with Chandler.
Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston)
She was Monica’s best friend at high school and she resided with her after she ran away from her wedding with Barry. She reinvented her life, begininng as a waitress at Central Perk and becoming a manager at Ralph Lauren. Her love affair with Ross, with all its ups and downs, made us dream and, after little Emma’s arriva, they couldn’t help get back together. Maybe some of you don’t know that Aniston hated her famous hairstyle, “The Rachel”: “Too difficult to handle”, she said a few years ago.
Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow)
She had the most offbeat beahviour among the 6 friends. A other that committed suicide, a father that disappeared when she was a kid, a troubled relationship with her twin sister…well, she had all the reasons to be a roblematic character. Of course Phoebe was exactly the opposite, the most creative and fun girl, that could leave you with your mouth open with her non-sense statements. Shw was a masseuse, but also a singer: do you remember her song “Smelly cat”?
Ross Geller (David Schwimmer)
He was Monica’s brother, mummy’s boy and also a paleontologist. But most of all, she was in love with Rachel since high school. Ross got divorced twice: first with Carol, that happened to be a lesbian, then with Emily, that he called Rachel during their wedding ceremony. But at the end, he found in Rachel his “lobster”…thanks to little Emma, of course.
Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry)
Chandler was Ross’ bestfriend at high school (we loved every single throwback episodes to those years!) and at the end he even became his brother in law, marrying his sister Monica. But wait…nobody ever forgot but his ex girlfriend Janice, right? Her catchphrase “Oh my God”! was a cult… as well as the barcalounger chairs and the foosball table in the apartment he shared with Joey.
Joey Tribbiani (Matt Le Blanc)
He shared with Chandler the partment right opposite to Monica’s one and he was an italian american womanizer and struggling actor. He was always looking for work as a model or an actor (he even appeared on print ads as a man who has a Venereal disease), but at the end he found his major role in “Days of our lives” Dr. Drake Remoray. Maybe you don’t know that, after Friends series finale, he was the main character of a spin off called “Joey”, where he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in cinema.
