The New Trust playing NYC before Minus the Bear tour (BV Presents)

The New Trust — aka Josh Staples (of The Velvet Teen), Sara Sanger, and Julia Lancer — are opening the West Coast/Southwest leg of Minus the Bear‘s Planet of Ice 10th anniversary tour later this year, but right before that, they’ve got a few other shows including Montreal’s Pouzza Fest.

A couple of days after Pouzza Fest, The New Trust will head to NYC for a BrooklynVegan-presented show on May 22 at Alphaville with local support from Caravela (hand-picked by The New Trust) and probably one more TBA. Tickets are on sale now. All New Trust dates are listed below.

The New Trust are touring behind last year’s Upset the Tides, their sixth album. It was recorded by Jack Shirley (Joyce Manor, Jeff Rosenstock, Deafheaven, etc), and it’s a very solid batch of punk/indie/emo songs with a little shoegaze/post-rock in the mix too. Listen below. Caravela recently released their new album Ski.

As for that Minus the Bear tour, the East Coast/Midwest leg with The Coathangers hits the NYC-area on 4/25 at The Stone Pony, 4/26 at Warsaw, and 4/27 at Irving Plaza (tickets). All dates and more info here.
