Rodarte Fall 2018
Rodarte‘s Kate and Laura Mulleavy opted for a lookbook in lieu of a show this season and I must say, I prefer to enjoy a collection this way. The photos exude a compelling feeling that can be otherwise overlooked on a runway. Instead of models, the design duo dressed their friends – inspirational women like Miranda July, Ava Phillipe, Chloe and Halle Bailey, Gia Coppola, Grimes, Kim Gordon, Kirsten Dunst, Rowan Blanchard, and Tessa Thompson. Moody romanticism was encapsulated by a cinematic, set – a background for beautiful dresses constructed of red tulle, embroidered white lace, polka dot silk and sequins. And let’s not forget about the oversized tartan pant suits – which were part of some of my favorite looks! So, so good.
